Coast's closure has raised a lot of questions. Below are answers to the most common ones — including who to contact for warranty claims, past purchases, and general inquiries about the CCAA process.

What has happened to Coast?

On April 17, 2026, the Supreme Court of British Columbia granted an Order under the Companies' Creditors Arrangement Act ("CCAA"). PwC has been appointed as Monitor with enhanced powers.

On April 27, 2027, the Court granted an Amended and Restated Initial Order ("ARIO") and approved a Liquidation Order, which among other things, approved Hilco Canada Holdings, ULC ("Hilco") as agent to conduct a liquidation sales process for Coast's inventory, furniture, fixtures and equipment.

Who is the Court-appointed Monitor and who do I contact?

The Court-appointed Monitor is PricewaterhouseCoopers Inc.

Due to the high volume of inquiries we are receiving, response times may be delayed; however, please know that we are working diligently to address all inquiries as promptly as possible.

Am I a creditor, and how do I file a claim?

If you believe Coast owes you money (for example, for a refund or credit), you may be a creditor in the CCAA process. At this time, the Court has not directed or approved a claims process. However, if a claims process is approved, instructions and deadlines will be posted on the Monitor's website, and the Monitor can provide guidance on what information you may need to submit. Further information will be provided following the completion of the liquidation process, but this will likely not occur until late 2026 and, in the event no funds are available for unsecured creditors, may not occur at all.

My item arrived damaged or missing parts, what should I do?

If the issue appears to be a manufacturer defect, contact the manufacturer directly to initiate a warranty claim.

What about my warranty?

Manufacturer warranties on appliances purchased from Coast are issued by the appliance manufacturer directly, not by the retailer, and Coast's CCAA proceedings do not affect your manufacturer warranty. If you need to make a warranty claim, please contact the manufacturer directly.

I bought an extended warranty, who do I contact?

Extended warranties sold by Coast, are administered by Comerco and insured by a third-party. Any claims are subject to the terms of the agreement between you and the warranty provider, Comerco. If you need to make an extended warranty claim, please contact Comerco directly.

Please note that, as of May 5, 2026, Coast is not currently selling extended warranties until it can be confirmed that they will be honoured.

How do I contact the manufacturer for warranty service?

Manufacturer warranty service is handled by the manufacturer directly. Your receipt and your appliance's brand/model and serial number will help the manufacturer locate your warranty coverage and service options.

Is Coast going out of business?

Coast is conducting an orderly wind-down through a Court-supervised process. Stores remain open during this time, but at this time, the expectation is all stores will ultimately close.

Where can I get more information?

Visit the Monitor's website at www.pwc.com/ca/coastappliances for Court documents, updates, and claims information.
