If you placed a deposit, made a purchase, or have an outstanding order with Coast Appliances, this page explains what's happening and what your options are.

Who's handling this, and why

Coast is currently going through a Court-supervised process under the Companies' Creditors Arrangement Act (CCAA). PricewaterhouseCoopers Inc. has been appointed by the Court as Monitor, with expanded powers to oversee Coast's affairs during this process — including matters related to customer orders, deposits, and claims. Coast is not able to make decisions about past purchases outside of this process; those decisions go through the Monitor.

If you have an order, deposit, or damaged item

  • All sales made by Coast are final. If an item you purchased arrived damaged or missing parts, contact your local sales representative, who can assist you.
  • If the issue looks like a manufacturer defect, contact the manufacturer directly to start a warranty claim — manufacturer warranties are issued by the manufacturer, not Coast, and aren't affected by these proceedings.
  • Important: any products you've purchased must be picked up by the date specified in the Monitor's notices. Items not collected by that deadline may be considered abandoned and forfeited. Check the Monitor's website for the current deadline before making a trip.

If Coast owes you money

If you believe Coast owes you a refund or credit, you may be a creditor in the CCAA process. As of now, the Court has not approved a formal claims process. If one is approved, instructions and deadlines will be posted on the Monitor's website. This is not expected to happen quickly — resolution typically follows the completion of the liquidation process, and in some cases, unsecured creditors may not recover funds at all.
