Induction Cooktops FAQ

Induction cooktops work by heating pots and pans, not the cooktop itself, so less heat is wasted in the air and pots heat up faster than with other kinds of cooktops. Induction heat is also precise, and when the temperature is adjusted the effect is almost immediate.

Induction cooktops do not use more electricity than other burners. In fact, since induction cooktops lose very little heat to the air they are some of the most energy-efficient cooktops available.

It’s important to remember that induction cooktops don’t get hot; they heat the pans. With that in mind, induction can generate hotter temperatures in a pan than gas.

Popular brands of induction cooktops include Jennair, Bosch, Thermador and Fisher Paykel, but at Coast Appliances you’ll find many more as well.
